The cost of burnout in education

The Cost of Burnout in Education

Across the UK, the pressure on educators has reached unprecedented levels. Increasing accountability, rising SEND needs, staffing shortages and emotionally demanding roles mean that many professionals within education are operating in a constant state of pressure.

When staff wellbeing declines, schools often begin to see increased staff sickness absence, higher staff turnover, greater reliance on supply staff, escalating behaviour challenges, and reduced staff morale and engagement.

Wellbeing is therefore not simply a pastoral issue. It is a strategic priority for sustainable performance within education. Supporting the wellbeing of professionals creates environments where both staff and students are better able to succeed.

Our Approach

At Yedi, our approach is grounded in positive psychology, trauma-informed practice and practical experience within education systems. Rather than offering one-off wellbeing sessions, our programmes focus on creating lasting, practical change that can be embedded into daily practice.

Our approach focuses on three key areas:

1

Understanding

Helping professionals and young people understand the psychological and emotional factors that influence wellbeing, behaviour and performance.

2

Regulation

Providing practical strategies to support emotional regulation, resilience and sustainable wellbeing within demanding environments.

3

Culture

Supporting schools and organisations to create psychologically safe environments where both staff and young people can flourish.
